Secure IT Global Empowerment Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to closing the digital divide for women, youth, and underserved families — giving them a real bridge from where they are to where technology can take them.
We started this work because too many capable people — especially women supporting their families — are locked out of opportunity simply because they've never had reliable access to a computer, the internet, or someone willing to teach them. Secure IT Global Empowerment Inc. was founded in 2025, growing directly out of years of hands-on IT support and computer repair work with families across Brooklyn. That work made one thing clear: the biggest barrier holding people back was access, not ability.
Today we run hands-on training programs that meet people where they are, and walk with them toward real, paid digital work — without ever asking them to leave their families or communities behind.
We're a young organization, and we're honest about what that means: we're funded almost entirely by individual donors, and right now that means we operate at a small scale — a handful of cohorts at a time rather than hundreds of people at once. We've chosen to grow this way on purpose. Every participant we take on gets real mentorship and follow-up, not just a seat in a crowded room. As our funding grows, our capacity grows with it — and every donor who joins us now is directly responsible for how many more people we can reach next.
Every program we run starts from the same premise: the biggest barrier holding someone back usually isn't ability, it's access — to a device, to reliable internet, to someone willing to teach them without judgment. So instead of building a one-size-fits-all curriculum, we build around the person in front of us. Training is hands-on from the first session. Mentorship doesn't end when a workshop does. And whether we're teaching someone their first computer skills abroad or helping a Brooklyn small business set up online payments, the approach is the same: practical, patient, and focused on outcomes the person can actually use the next day.
Sakib, a young man from Chattogram, Bangladesh, once supported his family by delivering food and working odd jobs. Through our digital skills and design training, he's since taken on paid freelance design projects for local businesses — including a logo for MCP Vlogs and a signboard for a local salon — and is now building his own freelance business. Ayesha quit her job after having kids, and after completing our training program, she is now working from home, using her new digital skills on her own schedule. They're two stories out of many we're working to make possible.
